Terms of service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the ASL digital platform, QR tags, websites, and related services (“Service”). By creating an account, scanning a ASL QR tag, uploading information, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, you may not use ASL.

ASL is operated from Sweden and complies with applicable European Union regulations, including GDPR.

1. About ASL

ASL is a neutral European platform for digital maintenance documentation.
Technicians and service companies can log service events, property owners can view installation histories, and industry partners may integrate through API connections.

ASL does not replace national safety regulations, technical standards, or legal inspection requirements.

2. Eligibility and User Accounts

2.1 Service Companies

To create a business account, the company must:

  • be legally registered in an EU/EEA country
  • provide accurate company and VAT details
  • submit verification information when required

Misrepresentation may result in suspension or removal.

2.2 Technicians

Only verified technicians may add or edit maintenance entries.
Technicians must represent a registered service company and may only log work within their certified trade category.

2.3 Property Owners and Managers

Property owners may access installation histories through scanning QR tags or via read-only dashboards. They cannot edit records unless explicitly authorised.

3. Use of QR Tags

  • Each QR tag corresponds to a unique installation record.
  • Scanning a tag opens the installation’s digital history without requiring an app.
  • Editing rights are restricted to verified technicians.
  • QR tags must be attached securely to the correct installation.
  • Removing, relocating, or misusing a QR tag may invalidate data accuracy.

ASL is not responsible for incorrect placement, removal, or physical damage to QR tags.

4. Logging Service Records

When logging maintenance:

  • all information must be accurate and truthful
  • uploaded files must be relevant to the installation
  • no unnecessary personal data may be included
  • all entries are time-stamped and linked to the responsible company

ASL reserves the right to remove fraudulent or abusive content.

5. File Uploads

Technicians may upload photos, PDFs, and supporting documents.
You are responsible for ensuring that:

  • files do not contain sensitive personal data
  • you have the right to upload the content
  • uploaded materials comply with local regulations

Inappropriate or harmful uploads will result in account termination.

6. Data Ownership

6.1 Service Companies

Companies own the service data they create.

6.2 Property Owners

Property owners have long-term access rights to installation histories associated with their assets.

6.3 ASL

ASL owns the platform, structure, QR identifiers, and all intellectual property required to operate the service.

ASL does not claim ownership of user-generated maintenance logs.

7. Data Storage and Retention

  • Installation histories are stored for up to 10 years per QR tag activation.
  • Data may be extended, exported, or deleted according to GDPR rights.
  • All data is stored securely within the European Union.

8. Platform Availability

ASL aims to provide continuous access but does not guarantee uninterrupted uptime.
Maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues may temporarily affect availability.

During the pilot phase, access, functionality, and feature availability may vary.

9. API Access

API integrations are allowed for approved partners.
Misuse of the API — including scraping, reverse engineering, or unauthorised automation — may result in access removal.

10. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • falsify service logs
  • impersonate another company or technician
  • upload malware or harmful content
  • attempt to breach system security
  • misuse QR tags or manufacture copies
  • circumvent verification or access controls
  • use the platform for illegal or unethical activities

Violation may result in permanent suspension and legal action.

11. Liability and Disclaimers

ASL provides the Service “as is”. While we strive for reliability and accuracy, we do not guarantee:

  • correctness of user-submitted maintenance data
  • compliance with industry or national regulations
  • suitability for safety-critical decision-making

Service companies remain fully responsible for the accuracy of their submitted records.

ASL is not liable for:

  • misuse of QR tags
  • damage to physical tags
  • delays caused by internet connectivity
  • incorrect or incomplete data provided by users

12. Termination

ASL may suspend or terminate accounts that:

  • violate these Terms
  • provide false or misleading verification details
  • misuse the platform
  • pose a security or compliance risk

Users may request account deletion at any time.

13. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect improvements, legal requirements, or service changes.
Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
