In some cases, information displayed on a tag’s log history may appear incomplete, missing, or incorrect. This page explains the most common reasons why data may not show as expected, and what you can do to verify or resolve the issue.
1. The record was never completed
Service records are only saved once a technician submits the form in full. If a technician closed their browser, lost connection, or exited the page before submission, the entry is not stored.
Check with your service provider to confirm whether the record was fully submitted.
2. Technician lacked the required Trade Category
If a technician does not have the correct Trade Category permissions, ASL prevents them from creating a valid record.
An attempted but invalid submission will not appear in the log.
3. A service provider switched companies
When a technician moves between companies, their access to previous company logs is removed. Records remain intact, but the technician name displayed may change format depending on availability of historical data (e.g., anonymised initials).
This is not a loss of data — it is a standard security measure.
4. The tag was replaced
If a tag was replaced (due to damage or expiry), older logs remain tied to the original tag ID.
If you are viewing a newly placed tag, make sure you are looking at the correct historical page.
Replacement instructions are found here: Replacing Tags.
5. Conflicting timestamps
If a device had the wrong time settings when submitting a record, timestamps may appear out of order. This does not affect the validity of the record; it only impacts sorting.
6. Older installations may have incomplete early documentation
For assets that were maintained before the introduction of ASL, early history may be missing. ASL stores all records entered into the system but does not reconstruct historical maintenance done outside the platform.
7. The record is correct but displayed differently
Some fields are optional or depend on Trade Category. A missing value does not always indicate an error — it may simply mean the field was not required for that type of work.
8. Actual errors in data
If you believe the data is truly incorrect and requires correction, you can request a manual adjustment.
Follow the instructions under: Editing or Correcting Records.
Still missing data?
If none of the above applies, contact support at support@aslplatform.eu with:
- The TagID
- Date of the missing record
- The service provider responsible
- A short description of what seems incorrect
ASL will review the log history and assist you in identifying the cause.
